Almost every single person will experience anxiety at least once in their lives. It is a sense of intense of fear or worry that something terrible would happen to us, or that we will fail to achieve something we want. It may be due to hundreds of possible reasons such as stress, hormonal imbalances or even genetical disorders.

Science has provided us with tons of producers and medicines to treat anxiety.  Nowadays, anyone can easily access therapy or doctors that can give them the proper treatment to get over their anxiety. Sadly, not everyone has the finances to include long rounds of therapy in their budget.

The only option many of people have is to seek advice from people who are very knowledgeable about the subject. People such as friends or families who have gone through the same ordeal can help you find a peace of mind. For devoted Christians, the Bible can be a beam of light at the end of the tunnel.

Here are some great Bible verses that can help you get over anxiety:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” – Philippians 4:6

God listens, that is an undeniable truth. Whatever you ask Him, he will listen. God puts us through challenges to test our will and strength, and most importantly our faith in Him. He does not expect us to be able to get through everything alone. So, if everything is already too hard, do not hesitate to ask for His help. (1)

“Peace is what I leave you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid.”- John 14:27

When Jesus sacrificed His Life for us, it is not only God’s forgiveness that he has given us. He sacrificed He gave His life to give us peace and that peace shall be with us until the end of time. No problem is too big for us to lose that peace. So, the Lord is telling us to not worry as at the end of our dark days is always the peace that Jesus has given us.

“I prayed to the Lord, and He answered me. He freed me from all my fears.”- Psalm 34:4

As we have said above, the Lord listens. We only need to talk to Him and tell Him all our troubles. This passage is a testimony to that fact. That is why we do not need to fear anything because the Lord will not put us through any challenges if He thinks we can’t get through them.

“Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.”- 1 Peter 5:7

Anxiety is a manifestation of our lack of confidence in us and on the will of the Lord. By believing that the Lord cares for us, we can let go of all the anxiety in our hearts. Without anxiety and worry, we can focus on finding a solution and getting through our battles. (2)

“I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”- Philippians 4:13

Saying “I can do all things” in public may make you look arrogant for a lot of people. No one can really do everything alone, but if we trust Christ and ask for His help, there is definitely nothing that we can’t do. Having a healthy relationship with the Lord will empower us to conquer all our fears and anxieties.

Therapy and medicines are indeed powerful weapons against anxiety; but, without faith in the Lord, we might as well abandon all hope. Trust in the words of the Bible and let go of your anxiety, for the Lord cares for you and will never let you down.
